With Halloween, the official candy holiday upon us and the Holiday season of overeating and tasty treats around the corner the QOTD is this: How do you fight the cravings to indulge, just a little, when everywhere you look there is temptation? *** *** *** Since I am still two months shiy of my 1 year rebirthday I still have the memory of getting sick burned in my mind. I have, on more than one occasion, been given a lemonaid instead of diet lemonaid or a sweet tea instead of unsweetened. This is always an unpleasant experience. Whenever I walk past a cheese cake or the bowl of candy at work, I get queezy!

I gave up sugar pre-op so cravings have not been an issue for me so much. But they do make some nice sugar free candies...not calorie free!...and I find that a piece or two of dark chocolate 68% +, sugar free takes away any inclinations to steal a bite here and there...guess I'm lucky that way. Never get cravings, never get hungry...almost 3 years out...plus I find that if I work out real hard that morning, I do not drift towards the 'sweeter' foods....Not very scientific...but it works...

Hi Family great question Cam, I still have sweets, i just have them in moderation, I work out alot so I think that I am fine, as a women it is different from men, that time of the month the chocolate monster just drives me crazy. I have to indulge. I have like a snack size snicker one or two of them and they don't make me sick.

It's really hard sometimes to resist temptation. Where I work, someone is ALWAYS bringing in cake, candies and such. I have to say I did try some cake the other day and about half an hour later I was so sick. It is memories like that that keeps one on the straight and narrow.

Back in May I committed to not eating refined sugar anymore. Usually some fruit works - of course, at only 6 weeks out that means a mashed banana - but it works for me. And now, after reading about dumping, and knowing lots of people dump on sugar, I'm even more motivated not to even think about going there. Steve

Well being an ex diabetic (no more insulin or pills since two weeks ago! Yippee!) I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I do occasionally get a hankerin for something sweet. and Yes I did have one piece of candy this holloween. (Sugar doesnt make me dump) But as I said I'm not much of a sweet eater anyway so there is not really a chance to tempt the Candy monster inside of me. I would not however recomend this for people who do have issues with sweets. I think of it this way, everything in this world was made for our use in moderation.....
