6 month update
Okay this is a few days late (over a week actually-sorry). Yes, it has been over six months since I had my surgery. I can hardly believe it. I had my checkup with Dr White last Thursday. I think he was very pleased. I have lost 88.5 lbs, which is 61% of my excess body weight. Dr White said that most people lose between 50 to 60% in six months, so I am a little over the average. My blood work was perfect. So I am really pleased.
I am able to walk so much better (which is good since I have to walk about 1/2 mile to the bus stop and about 1/2 mile from the bus to my work place to get to work right now... wouldn't have been able to do that before surgery). I am able to get in and out of the shower so much better. Can tie my shoes without much effort. Can go shopping without tiring much. OOH can't wait to go Christmas shopping this year! I can carry two big bags of laundry up our front steps. I can wear size 18 pants. Haven't seen that size since high school. I think I now wear a smaller size than my mom. I haven't done that since early high school. Don't know what else to say. I have about 60 more lbs to go to get to my goal. I hope to be able to do that in the next six months. It would be great to be able to get to goal in the first year. But I am not going to stress about it. I am at about 223 now, if I can get under 200 by Jan or Feb, I would be ecstatic.
