Based on some literature I received from my doctor, I'm eating between 1000-1400 calories per day, depending on how much exercise I do. However, in the profiles I've read, many people are indicating that they're eating between 400-800 calories per day ... even many months post op. Am I eating too many caloreis??

Every surgeon and nut has different rules as far as calories, protein, carbs and etc.. I say do what YOUR surgeon and nut tells you to do. If they 1000 to 1400 calories a day is what you should be doing and your loosing weight, then stick with that. I think everyone will have a different answer and opinion on this subject. I cant wait to read everyone's eating plan. kay

I was told not to count calories, at least not yet. If you are eating exactly to your nutritionist's program, calorie count shouldn't be an issue.

I'm one year out. I don't officially count calories and only estimate for the day. But I usually get in around 1200. Sometimes as low as 900, sometimes as high as 1500. CHeck out this post on my blog where I recount my daily caloric intake: http://hotfat4sale.blogspot.com/2006/09/what-i-eat.html I don't get how people can get by on 500 calories a day and keep losing weight. When my calories dip below 700 now, I lose nothing.

My nutristionist told me I should not fall below 800 Calories, but I find that I do eat more than that, I lose more weight when I eat more. Go figure.
