5 day update
well i'm 5 days post op and not doing that bad. i do have a pain in my side with movement that i called the doc and and she said it is probably from the incision . liquids are going down but slowly and not enough i'm trying to increase every day. i'm getting up and around the house pretty good. i just wish someone would of told me how hard it was going to be to whipe my own butt lmao. Everything still smells good and looks good . that is hard. but i know that there is no way i could tolerate anything now. maybe cream soup would be nice. but i'm on clear liquids till i see my dr on the 11th. i've waited this long a few more days will not hurt.. as long as i'm ok for oct 6th my birthday and elton john. yipee
well take care all
Lori
Lori,
Glad to hear that you are doing okay. Congratulations on being brave enough to take control of your life!
I actually used the smell of other's food to help me have an appetite in the first weeks. The smell was good and it made it easier to eat whatever it was that was on my plate at the time. Also, keep on moving. Even though it is a bit uncomfortable, the moving really helps with recovery and healing.
Keep your chin up these next few weeks and remember that this is the hard part. You will be feeling like a new woman soon, and you are going to be fabulous!
Take good care,
Amy
thanks it gets easier everyday. just cant wait for some mashed taters!!! looks like i'm down per my scale... 16 lbs. i know i had alot of water weight before cause my legs were swollen. now i see my veins in my feet. wow. The water is the best for me. i'm drinking about 32 oz plus lots of popsicles so thats alot better then when i first came home. i'm also laying flat (mostly flat) in bed. oh ya and last night i was on my side twice. so amazing how the little things thrill you lol.
