MRI back results

I got these results back as well, I have a disk displacement and its pushing the the S1 nerve route. I have to see the surgeon about this on August 1st. My pcp nurse said to me that more often than not surgery is required. She also said that the disk would not go back into place on its own. So, along with the depression and throat surgery, I am also going to be having surgery on my back. Just wanted to kinda keep everyone updated and when I am home I will go into greater detail about everything. Melissa

Darn Melissa - That's a LOT to try to handle all at once! Hopefullly you are someplace where they are giving you the time/care to heal and stabilize so you can take on the other challenges ahead of you. Melissa, You and your family are definately in my prayers. I know a lot has come at you at once and I'm so sorry you are going thru it all. Having WLS I'm sure will help increase your ability to heal and decrease your recovery time. Think of all of the weight you carried around before and how much harder it would have been to bounce back if you still carried it now. Try to focus on the positives right now...you have a beautiful daughter that will be by your side looking to you as an example of strength and love. I know depression is a tough enemy but it can be conquered. You physical recovery will be easier if you are emotionally stronger. This may all be happening right now to best prepare you for the surgery you are likely to have...to make you in the best shape physically and emotionally to recover successfully and quickly.
