Weekly update
Someone reproached me last week for always being so negative. I suppose they're right. I'll try a different approach this time. I lost two pounds last week. Here are some good things I can think of on my journey so far.
I've lost 50 pounds in 17 weeks
I'm about halfway to my goal
My joints are certainly feeling better
I have more energy
I've cut my nighttime insulin from 20 units to 8
How did you do this week?

I actually gained about 0.2 lbs this week. A little frustrating, but I have been retaining water quite a bit. One little piece of advise I got from a friend of mine who is a nurse (she was actually working the night I had my surgery and took care of me. she wasn't my assigned nurse, but she kept coming in and checking on me and such) is to put lemon juice in my water, since lemon is a natural diuretic. So far it has worked pretty good. I put a little lemon and splenda in my water and voila, I have lemonade. Very tasty and refreshing. I was actually up about 5 lbs on Wednesday, but today I was only up about one pound, so I'm going back down again.

I think its fine to be a "lil negative" every now and then, this is a huge thing we are going through and not all of it will be fun and games, so thats what this board is for,, support,, anytime you want to be negative email me ,, we'll be negative and positive together!!!! Good Luck and while I do think it helps and is good to be positive no one's perfect so thats ok! I think with us going into this surgery we expect/hope for alot ,, so sometimes we are let down ,, just attempt to do your best and thats good enough!
