Protein and Food issues

Hey family I'm starting to beat myself up over this protein thing and it's driving me nuts! My surgeon and nut say I sould be getting 65 to 70 grams of protein in a day. I'm not! Yesterday I got 40 grams. Everyone says add a snack or eat more. I try that but I end up feeling bloated and overly full all day. I think he made my pouch too small. I compare my menu to what others are eating and I cant eat half as much as others who had there surgery after me. I never thought I'd say this but I HATE to eat now. For breakfast I usually drink Coffee with protein in it. I have to make myself eat lunch and its usually something small because I'm not hungry. I'm worried that I'll become unhealthy or have major food problems. I had this surgery to limit my food intake not stave myself. Sorry for venting but I'm feeling frustrated! Kay

Kay, whenever you need to vent or feeling frusted we are always here for you. I am another person that doesn't get my protein, i can't stand the taste it makes me gag. I know for a fact that if i get 40 grams a day of protein that is a good day for me, but i try to chose foods like sunflower seeds, and chicken and peanut butter. I wish that my stomach was small because I seem to be able to get too much food if you ask me. My partner thinks otherwise. But as you can see with your recent update you are really losing.

Hey Sherry Thanks for your responce. I also focus on protein foods but then I start to wonder if I should be adding fruits, veggies and some starches. Heck, I guess this new way of eating is going to take some time getting use to. All I can do is do the best that I can and hope for the best. I had my breakdown for the month so I feel better now. Special Kay, One way to get more protein in is to add a protein supplement. When I feel I am not getting enough protein I drink one of these. I get mine at the gym. They make them with 40 & 50 grams per 240-310 calorie serving. So they are not overly full of calories, but provide half the protein I need daily. You may look into getting these. Also, you are experiencing what everyone go through with the not wanting to eat. that will soon pass, I now wi**** had never passed. Good luck. Matthew 416.5/240.5/199
