SOMEBODY PINCH ME!!!
So I had my pre op nutrition meeting yesterday. It was a meeting to go over what would happen the day of surgery and discuss post op nutrition and everything. When I left the office they told me that they were going to send my info over to billing and that they would call me in a few days to schedule surgery. They said that they are scheduling about 5 weeks out so I was figuring on end of july.
So I was sitting here today and the phone rang and it was the weight loss clinic to schedule already. She said, "this might be too soon, but we had an opening on tuesday" I was like totally shocked. I told her that I would take it. I had to run over to the hospital to have a pregnancy test as soon as I got off the phone. As long as they have the results by monday afternoon, surgery is ON for tuesday!!! They better put a rush on my pregnancy test. Of course they wouldn't take my word for it considering I have never had sex with a man, but o well. Gotta do what you gotta do.
So now I am going out of my mind. My partner doesn't think that she will be able to get off of work to take me to the hospital and my mom just had a knee replacement, so I might have to go alone. That sucks, but at least I don't have to wait until the end of july! I have so much to get together. I am so excited!!!
Hi sierra, congragulations on your surgery date wow tuesday that wonderful. and i know about the pregancy test i told them im a lesbian relationship for 9years and they made me still take one i was laughing when she said ok the test was negative im like i know lol i could have told yah that! well take care and good luck.

Yeah, I know about the pregnancy test thing myself. having had to go through it many years ago. I didn't have to do that with this surgery. I had a hysterectomy about 11 years ago. That puts a kabosh on the whole "need to give you a pregnancy test" thing. If I ever turn out to be pregnant, I'm either calling the national enquirer or a good lawyer.
CONGRATULATIONS! I know how you feel and if feels great. I went today and had all my pre-op stuff done. Gallbladder ultrasound, blood gases, EKG, chest x-ray, blood type and cross and of course pre-op appointment with my surgeon. My surgery date is July 23rd and when he came in for my pre-op appointment he said "hey, do you want to move it up a few days - say like Wednesday?" I would have jumped at it if I didn't already have everything planned out for Friday. Either way we are still surgery buddies - only two days apart! I will pray for your uneventful surgery and quick recovery!
Andrea
Congrats on getting your date!!
They always do a pregnancy test before any type of surgery. When I had my carpal tunnel surgery, my pregnancy test came back positive. Go figure. Like you, I've never been with a man sexually.
I may look pregnant, but if I actually was I would be the richest woman in the world because I was impregnated by another woman. LOL!! My partner couldn't stop laughing.
