frustrated
It has been a year since I have had a paying job. I have been volunteering in a library since last May. I need a job. I feel like I need to contribute to the house financially.
Anyway I have been looking for a job since February. I have had a few interviews, but not a job. I just really don't know where to even look for a job at this point. I am 37 and working at Walmarts or a grocery store does not seem an option for me. I have issues standing for long periods of time. I just do not know what to do.
The kicker is if I can get a job, then Rhonda can move to 1st shift in June and if I don't then she needs to stay on third shift. I hate that we rarely have time together because when she is home she is sleeping.
I know no one can help me, but any advise is appreciated.
Take care
What are your qualifications? Do you have any higer education? What kind of jobs do you like? What kind of jobs are you looking for?
I understand where you are coming from. My sister has been unemployed for almost a year now and all she has been doing is working with my dad now and then. I got her set up on a whole bunch of interviews and found her openings for jobs she didn't even know existed. If there is anything I can do to ehlp you, please let me know. Meanwhile, I will send some prayers your way
I have worked as a receptionist and computer technician most recently. I am in my last year in college (undergraduate). When I was going for my associates degree it was in computers and my bachelor's degree is a general liberal arts degree. I am looking for something that I have to deal with people and feel needed. I really am not sure what I am looking for. Right now anything I can do is fine. I am kinid of desperate right now. I hate to say that, but it is true.
I have been thinking of some ideas for you. Here is what I have come up with. I don't know if there are any openings in your area for these jobs, but I was just thinking of some possibilities.
Receptionist at a small office of some sort maybe a doctors office or animal shelter
911 operator
baby rocker in a daycare
Tellamarketer
Movie theater ticket taker
customer service at the mall
working for an answering service
I had a few other odd job in mind, but I can't think of them now.
You could always try a temp agency.
Good luck and try not to get discouraged if you don't get a job after just one interview. Keep your chin up!
