MEN...GUYS....MALES....
Where are you???????? Have you all become lurkers like me? I LOVE the women in here... I learn so much from them...but I want to hear and learn from you guys!!! Let's get this room going again...back in the fall, there were a lot more people...a lot more men... a lot more chats... let's wake up the room... Let's get the party started.. Let's rock the house... let's do something.....
I pretty much stay on the mens board. I check in here , but there doesn't seem to be a lot of action in here for the boys. I am almost one month out from open rny and finally not nauseous anymore, just in time to head back to my job as a very busy hairstylist. Feeling pretty good, lost 54 pounds, and looking forward to feeling 100 percent and starting my new life.
You're right, not a lot of talking/conversating going on...I know...I made up the word...it's been a while since I was on the boards, computer went down, and the new format seems to have left out a quick and easy location on the new drop down menus.
Love the new pic on your profile!
Not much to say...what's to talk about? Opera, leather, kayakking, bicycling, will you be coming to the richmond get together in June?...
and how long does it take for the OH vol. to change a picture?...I sent in a newer/better...hopefully...picture 2 months ago...and still have that old one there!...
great to see all the responses so far. There is so much that we can chat about... Exercise, favorite meals, or snacks, best ways of getting protien, etc...etc... We can also hit topics like leather (hmm), favorite books, music, etc. I am totally in love with the books of Dan Brown and Steve Berry. I enjoy reading about the Templars and about "religious based fiction". With music, I love a lot of people...but my favorite is Sam Harris... So, let's find a topic..and let's run with it...
Books, music, leather...hmm??..intriguing response! Seeing as I am just an old hippie from the woodstock days, (still have my woodstock craftsmans manual), play old time music and am one of the resident storytellers in the area and I work in the local library...plus my new friend Alan is really into leather and fur...what a great combo! He has this gladiator outfit that is awesome!...with the full helmet and such...he has some other accoutremants that I am sure that were not found on the arena grounds...perhaps on the slave owners boudoir wall perhaps...but certainly not standard issue for the arena...and he is so...shall we say...alluring...when all fixed up.
We went out to the opera a while back, went to see 'Norma'...terriffic opera!...but his furs!...I mentioned that I could have slept on the full length *****hilla that he had...and there was a side remark that there is always that possibility!...more on that later!!
Almost a vegan by proxy, here, but don't miss the meat...well...you know...the beef that you ingest and chew...or pork...(let's keep this clean now folks...or do we?)
I do a lot of bicycling, kayakking and hiking, and at 2 1/2 years out still don't do the sugar, fried. fast food, hi carb or caffiene thing. Rally don't have time with all my other things that I am busy doing!. Favorite sources of protien is soy in all forms, edeme, tofu, and a little fish or turkey here and there. The strange thing is that whenever I have just the smallest taste of meat I get the sniffles...and the feeling that there is a cold coming on...but the really weird thing is that I have not had a cold, or headache or the flu since the day of my surgery, not even as much as one single tylenol or aspirin!...so the correllation between eating a tiny portion of meat ...aside from making me feel a little 'queasy'...I get cold/flu symptons? That tells me that meat, in any form, is compromising my immune system! So I guess I'll stay away from it, I don't really miss it. I do ok on fish and shrimp and such.
Well, I've rambled on for more than long enough...someone else take the mic...
Blahhhh dan brown sucks the big one. At least he could have kept his historical facts right. I think he's going to write a book next about World War 2, except in his novel, Hitler will have won, and all the jews would have been exterminiated, and i'm sure he'll have historical research to back it up...LOL.
OK, OK i'm getting off Dan Brown......(that wasn't dirty, just getting off the subject matter).
Anywayyyyyy, yeah i there's not a lot of men action going on in this room. Mostly women, but that seems to be the way it goes in any of the rooms, except the Men's forum. I guess either we lurk a lot more, or there are signifcantly more women having WLS then men. I think a little of A, and a little of B to be honest.
But i'm up for a party..wooop, wooop ..rooppaaa ....
Dan you are right, the women in here are GREAT!
I'm what you would call a "Perpetual Pre-Op", I've done all the preliminaries
but no way, no how is the insurance company gonna pay for WLS.
The battle continues. Stay tuned.
So right now I'm content to be a big hairy bear currently single.
Speaking of bears I'm also treasurer of The Northeast Ursamen-

I enjoy gardening-got a degree in floriculture, but I wish I were thinner and could do all the landscaping projects around the house.
Thats it for now.
Bear hugz to all!!!!
