I met you at the clothes swap and you are beautiful. Please don't worry about looking too skinny. You would rock skinny well, lol.
I am pre op and it seems the world is falling on me right now due to my mother becoming very ill from kidney failure. My eating is out of control and I am even questioning having surgery right now. I don't have much advice but I totally understand the emotional eating. ((((Hugs)))). It will get better. Prayer changes things!

I wouldn't be too concerned about the protein bars and greek yogurt. They are both sources of protein. Greek yogurt has become a staple for me and I never ate yogurt before..............never, ever. Don't start thinking negatively. You have done so well thus far. I never wanted to be really small either but you see what has occurred. Your body will stop on its own when it gets to where it needs to be. Eat healthy and stop sabotaging yourself!
Hope you grandmother gets well soon.
I am out of control with my carbs! I know partly it was due to my own self sabatoge. I lost weight so fast I was afraid to be super skinny I mean I am at 88lbs lost right now. I thought in my head that I would be the one statistic of the person that couldnt stop losing and looked and felt like a crack head. So i started eating more carbs to slow things down a bit. I know it sounds silly but I guess the surgery heals some things but my mind has to change as well, I do want to lose weight but I just keep thinking I never wanted to be really small. Now my Grandmother has had a heart attack and I am heading to see her this weekend. I am such an emotional eater that I am consuming alot of carbs (mostly from protein bars and greek yogurt..and i must admitt chips as well) I never eat sweets... HELP PLEASE!
I STONGLY suggest that anyone interested in entering this contest go on the revision forum and look and see how many ppl are revising FROM the band!!! Feel free to PM any of those "inspirational individuals". I'm sure they would be more than happy to tell you about their experiences with the Lap Band!!!
Remember people do have problems after WLS and for most of us with them the Increase in life quality outweighs the issues we face, but be aware that you may need the support of your PCP at some point and if they are unwilling to consider it now do you really want them in an "I told you so" mindset if you need them?
I don't think my PCP was keen on me but I ended up proving to him I had done all my research knew the risks. When I had an issue I went in and saw him and said I believe I have X because of X, Y and Z. Now he is amazed at my progress and supports my decisions regarding care and such.
It was me who told him that I believed I know longer needed to take all the meds I was to treat my comorbidities, and after looking at all the numbers he agreed.
Depending where you live and where you need your PCP to be located I can give you the name of mine if you shoot me a message.

Contest Program
Through the stories of real people, the Live My C.H.O.I.C.E. Contest Program aims to raise awareness of the challenges those 100 pounds or more overweight face, highlighting the critical need to ensure access to treatment.
The Contest Program provides the opportunity for three inspirational individuals to be selected to receive a LAP-BAND® Adjustable Gastric Banding System procedure, performed by a certified LAP-BAND® System surgeon of their choice, and one year of follow-up care, compliments of Allergan, Inc. These individuals will publicly share their long-term struggle with weight loss in an effort to inspire others to reclaim their health and their lives. As part of this Contest Program, Allergan will provide all entrants the opportunity to receive free telephone consultations with a health educator who can provide one-on-one support, such as assistance in finding a local patient seminar, access to more information and resources regarding the LAP-BAND® System.
The contest runs from September through December. To qualify for the contest, people must meet the clinical criteria for the LAP-BAND® System procedure: Body Mass Index (BMI) of at least 40; BMI of at least 35 with one or more serious comorbid conditions; or at least 100 pounds over their ideal weight as determined by a physician. Those interested in entering the contest must submit a short essay or video at www.LapbandChoiceContest.com about how their weight has impacted their health and life, and why the LAP-BAND® System may be the tool to help achieve their weight-loss goal. A family member or close friend may also enter the contest on a person's behalf.
More information about the contest, including details on the rules and eligibility, can be accessed at www.LapbandChoiceContest.com.
