How is everyone doing these days? I am scheduled next week with Dr. Macik...any regrets???
Thanks Mike, not around the corner, but either is anything on the North side either. I just might check you guys out!
Depending on where in Atlanta you're attending a support group, the one we have in Warner Robins may be closer/quicker. The OH link is:

So how did that surgery go 6 months ago? I am sure there are others out there that can benefit from your experience and advice post op, it seems to be a question many have but don't ask. Hope it went well.
Although this is a older post, I am glad I scrolled a few pages back! I haven't seen Dr Hart's name much on this site and was starting to get a little nervous...I am scheduled for surgery with him on Nov 5. I wish I could go to the support group this month but I signed up for a extra shift before consulting the calendar. I am going next month (October) to the "pearls" class which meets at the same time. Did you go to the pearls class or the support group. It will be my only opportunity to attend one pre op. Thanks for posting it is great to read positive things about that support group. I am starting to reconcile myself to planning on making the very long drive up there as I can't seem to find a support group on the southside.
Do you have a surgery date in mind?
Are you all still meeting? If not then where is everyone going for support on the south side of Atlanta?
I too live on the southside and believe the drive for surgery is well worth it. I will have mine at Johns Creek (a nearly 2 hr drive). Most of the support classes are offered with associated hospitals. I suspect in the future Southern Regional will have some as they are now associated with Emory and started doing bands. I am willing to drive to go to a group but I must be honest with myself and know that for the long term local would def be better. I think support groups are VERY important and is part of the successful equation. There is one listed that was meeting at Piedmont Henry in Stockbridge, but it appears to have disolved...so where are all those people?
There is one that shows up in the search that was meeting in Stockbridge at Piedmont Henry Hospital (formerly Henry Medical Center). The page is inactive though...I know most support groups are associated with the surgical sites, but it seems like there must be others in GA on the south side. I will travel for now, but still hoping......
I too chose Dr Hart, the Center of Excellence status persuaded me. C Bradley do you have a surgery date? I just got my date yesterday...Nov 5th.
It is a long drive for us as we live on the southside of Atlanta, but it 'll be worth the drive. I just wish that I can find a support group on the south side.
