Scheduling surgery date

Hi everyone. I am kind of new to these boards but I have a question for you. I have a surgical consult with my surgeron on May 19. I really want to have surgery in July. It is very hard for me to schedule time off at work and I have told my manager that I have surgery scheduled for July so that she would go ahead and put me on the calender. My question is- do you think my surgeon will go ahead and let me schedule a surgery date for July even though I don't have official approval from my insurance company yet ( I know there will be no problem with approval)? I have completed all of my prerequisites except for my psych evaluation. BTW- my md is Dr. Proctor in Gainesville. Anyone have any experience with him? Thanks in advance Lisa

Good luck.. they dragged me along for months. I finally just went to another surgeon. They have lots and lots of hoops you have to jump through.
