HELP!! LOKING FOR A SURGEON NEAR SAVANNAH GA TAKES MEDICAID?

Anyone know any surgeons near SAVANNAH GA or with 2 hrs of savannah that takes ga medicaid other then Dr.Henderson in brunswick they are not currently taking it they said ???????????

I don't know how long it takes to get to Atlanta from Savannah, but Peactree Surgical & Bariatrics does, it is Dr. Titus Duncan and Dr. Larry Hobson, they are the best. Good luck. Hugs, Lynda

Hey i live in st marys which is five mins from the ga/fla border and I had to go to gainsville fla to have the surgery. I have medicare so I dont know if my surgeon takes medicaid but he does take medicare. His name is Bruce Brient. It takes me about 2 hours to get there so it would take you about 3 and a half to get to gainesville..or u could go up to atlanta which is about a 5 hour drive. I wont say anything about Dr. Duncan, as I had a bad exp with his office. But I do hope u find somthing. New medicare/medicaid rules are sucking lately so I hear. I am fortunate to have had my surgery before it all started. Donna

All I can say is that dr duncan is the best surgeon around that my opinion and I love his office and fellow surgeons. Someone is always going to have a problem with someone in the office I did but I didnt go for the office I went for the surgeon so keep that in mind when you finally choose a surgeon

Hi Heather, Good luck in finding a surgeon in the area you need him/her to be. One thing you are going to find on this site is everyone thinks their surgeon is the best(I KNOW mine is, see my point!LOL). I encourage you to look beyond this website for info on any doctor. I have met with three surgeons and was getting ready to have surgery with one when events led me to do some research. I am glad I did because I found out that this surgeon had 15 (yes 15) lawsuits active against him at that time. I changed surgeons. This is such a personal decision just be sure you make it an informed one as well. Good luck and best wishes. Lorie

thanks for all your replies they are appreciated im trying to find one within like two hours I don't know how it would be having to drive to appointments over and over again. I also was scheduled and approved for the surgery last feb two days before my surgeon sayd oh we arent doing rouxen y anymore we are doing fobi pouch so you will need 2500 I didnt have it so i said ok . i cried and cried then a couple months later they called back and said ok we can do the surgery and then i was like no #1 because of what they did and # 2 because I know did have babysitting and everything else arranged anymore. So now I am in Savannah trying again. How is St.Mary's is there a mixture of people there its funny I was just telling my husband I wanted to go there last night

I used to live in Savannah and the closest one other then Brunswick in Atlanta thats where I drove to when I was going to have it before  until I found out I was pregnant 1 wk before my surgery date  :) now Im starting all over ............
