New and Thinking about wls

Hi all. I'm Dee-Dee from Stone Mountain. I have been looking into the surgery for about a year and just wanted to say hello and maybe learn some things about other peoples experiences with the surgery. I currently weigh 290 lbs and I am about 5' 9 in height. We do have insurance now, but my husband is a Ford Motor Company worker and the plant will be closing this fall, so we are not sure how long we will have the insurance. I may have to pay out of pocket anyway though because there is a writen exclusion in the policy. Hopefully when I'm ready, will have better insurance. Sorry to go on about myself. Please share any experiences (good or bad) with me. Thank you

Welcome, Dee-Dee. Good luck on your journey. I had surgery about 5 months ago. I started at 349 and now weigh 238. It is the best thing I have ever done...it wasn't easy, but it gets easier. If you feel like it, read my profile. I did a lot of reading when I was in the research stages. You'll find some great people here. Try to make one of our monthly gatherings...they are so much fun. I haven't been to one since December...hopefully, I can make March.

Hey Dee Dee! I'm still relatively new, I just had surgery 7 weeks ago, but I'm feeling great! Girl, I have a new lease on life, the journey to WLS is sometimes slow and tedious but just remember it is well worth it end the end. Blessings, Neci
