Joie Culpepper of AL died. She was a spouse of a WLS patient. He is an amazing person as I imagine she was. I lurk alot on the Alabama board as well as the Christianity messageboard and while I do not know these people personally I have gained alot of strength from Randal's (Randal Culpepper is her husband)posts and profile. Please pop over to Alabama and let him know the Georgia Board cares. The details are on there about what happened to Joie. Again, she wasn't a WLS patient. This family has had a gut wrenching couple of weeks and I am sure rough days lie ahead.
Thank
You
Lorie
Lorie,
James and I are so saddened by Joie's passing. We had the pleasure of meeting Randall and spending time with him at the OH convention in Atlanta last Jan. He is a terrific man. We both think a lot of him. I believe several other GA board members also met him.
I know Randall could use our support, prayers and encouragement right now.
Financially this is a huge blow to the family as well since they relied so heavily on Joie's income. They have set up a paypal account and posted an address where donations can be sent if you anyone feels lead. ....and it doesn't need to be a lot either. A little bit from a lot of people can really make a difference.

tonya,
You know that is the general opinion of this man and his family I believe, they are amazing people. Even though I was never personally aquainted with them I am so sad for them. There is also an address to send money to the family throught their church if anyone doesn't have a paypal account. I hope everyone's collective efforts make a huge difference for this family.

Randall and I have corresponded since I joined OH and he is a remarkable person. I was devastated to hear of his wife's death and I know that his strong faith in Jesus Christ will get him through this. His address has been posted on the Alabama board and I encourage everyone to send him a note of encouragement. He has two kids and they are basically going to have to learn how to live their lives without there Mom and wife now. Please keep them in your prayers.
George
PS I am also an Alabama board lurker!!
