I'm having a bump in the recovery road:(
I didn't want to post this yesterday
A). B/c I felt like **** and
B). Didn't want to freak out Dee Dee who should be having surgery any minute now.
I'm "pasting" my progress report. The good news is that my temp seems to be normalized, but I'm still in a bunch of pain...
Heya! I know some of you are following my progress from my reconstructive and plastic surgery. Let me say my tits, eyes and arms are coming along nicely.
I was feeling great 2 weeks post-op. After a week of lounging my parents came down to ATL from CT and we went to the aquarium and mall shopping a few times. Besides feeling a little tired I felt overall great. No back pain...my new belly button pulled a little, but other than that I was great.
I woke up yesterday to a lot of pain in my right hip area. I had an appt w/surgeon yesterday anyways, so I just went in for my regularly scheduled appt. I could barely walk it hurt so much...even to the touch. At that point I didn't have a fever. She checked my leg for clots, no symptoms of one. She started pulling off my bikini tape and I started crying. Apparantly my groin was all pink and swollen and I had developed an infection. Needless to say the drains are still in and I have to wear that dang binder. Was supposed to go back to work on Tuesday, but she nixed that idea. I still have a temp over 100 and trying to get the fluids in. It was above 101 yesterday, so I'm hoping it stays below that.
That's all for now-Sherry
(((((Sherry))))) Did the doc put you on antibiotics? I'm still on the fence about plastics since I will be self-pay. I was blessed to qualify for WLS before my insurance quit covering it. (Right now, we have two house payments. Good-bye, Mediterranian cruise for 30th anniversary, much less plastics.) I appreciate the updates since I really, really do want the surgery. I've been at the same weight for six months, so I think I'm ready timewise.
I think you are very brave to continue on this journey! You inspire me! Feel better soon!
Hugs,
Becky
THanks ladies! 2 house payments! Ouch Becky. That's one reason why I got my plastics before kids-like with your WLS, I wanted to make sure that my tummy and BL got paid for.
Even with this infection I would still do it again. I am terrified of these drains being pulled. They bother me. Oooh just got a call from Dr. Ashraf! I'll post Dee Dee's report in a minute!
Sherry
I hope you get to feeling better fast ..At least you caught what every you have fast...A friend of mine had a TT and got a very very very bad infection ...I dont think they caught it fast enough or she did not go to the doc soon enough ..Anyways ...Sounds like you are ..Adn that is good ...You will be back on your feet in no time ...i am keeping you in my prayers !!
Laura

Thanks Laura! This one hit me fAst and hard. I'm the hypochondriac tye, so I never hesitate to call a Dr...plus when I was moving fine the day before and ended up barely able to move the next day, that was a big clue. A lot of people from my WLS office have had complications lately...we all didn't use the same drs, and I am doing better than them it seems. One lady just got admitted today b/c she has a lot of fluid in the belly and they are going to drain her out. Ummm-youch and no thanks! Hopefully we caught this in time.
Dr. put me on Levaquin, which is a mega antibiotic. After the 2nd dose which I took this morning my fever went away. Just have a bunch of achiness now.
