I know this isn't weight-loss related, but I believe in the power of prayer and was hoping to get some fellow believers to help me out. I have 2 boys, Jeremy age 6 and Jake age 3 with mild Autism. They are both very sweet and I love them with everything I am. Jeremy began talking at age 4 and is now in Kindergarten. He is in a special class this year, but they are hoping to main stream him next year. Jake isn't talking yet. He says a occasional single word or simple phrase. He is very smart. We discovered that he knows the alphabet by selecting the appropriate buttons on his Sesame Street toy. Jake's inability to speak makes life harder than it has to be sometimes. He is prone to tantrums because the poor little guy just doesn't get what is going on. We try to be very patient and loving with him. Anyway, if anyone can add our sweet boys to your prayer lists, it would be greatly appreciated. I know that the Lord made them this way for a reason and that will be shone to us later. I just want Jeremy to continue doing well at school and to hear my little Jakie talk.

Hi, Christen, Please know that your family will be in my prayers. I teach kinders and have had kiddos with PDDs. I've also had several students who did not talk. Little ones are my heart any way, so Jeremy and Jake will be there when I talk to the Lord. I think it is really cool that you know Jake is learning. That rocks! I'll be praying that better communication will happen for Jake, and that Jeremy will continue to do well. I am praying for the Lord's perfect peace for you and your hubby, and that He will hold you tight in His arms. Love, Becky

Lord, We come to you today, God, asking for a healing. Lord, whatever it is that is holding this young child back from talking, Lord, I ask that you would lift it away. God, I pray that you will continue to bless this family with compassion and strength and love. Lord, it isn't easy to raise chirldren as you know more than anyone, but God it is even more difficult to raise a child that can't communicate. God, just as you love to hear your children talk to you, this mother waits for the day that her little boy Jake will call out "mommy". Lord, I know that you will honor this prayer, because you are a God that answers those who believe and God there are alot of believers that are praying for this little boy. Lord, you tell us to have faith and God, I have faith in you and I know that you will answr this prayer, because you don't lie. You are a God that keeps his promises. Lord, please lift up this family and continue to bless them as you have already. Bless you Father and thank you so much for all that you do in our lives even though we may not even notice most of it. I pray this in your sons name Jesus Christ for all his Glory. Amen

Christen: I will pray for your Jake. I would not worry too much about his mild autism, I use to drive special ed school bus for 10 years. And this one year this little blonde headed boy, I sat him behind me because some of the larger kids would pick on him. The first few months of school I never heard a word out of this child, the teacher always got him on the bus before the other childern would get out of their classes. And I would always talk to him, and ask him what he did that day, and if he had a colored picture I would ask to see it and, ask him what it was. Of course, like I said, no answer. Than the 4th month of the school year, he came running out and got on the bus, and as usual I talked to him, and he starting talking back. His teacher was standing by the side of the bus, talking to another teacher, and I saw her in the mirror, stop and listen. She came to the door the next day when she herd him talkiing to me, and asked when he started talking to me, and if I knew he was autistic, I said I didn't know I thought he was just shy, and some childern take longer to warm up to adults when they start a new school. I told her that he had been talking since the begining of the week, and she said you have done a miricale, in a month or 2 , his teacher came and said he was starting to speak in class at times, and she thanked me for talking and taking time to show some interest in him. I was just doing what I would do for any child, showing them that people care. Jake will be in my prayer, and I pray that as he nears the age of school, that someone shows him, that they care, and he will be able to open up the greatness that is inside of him. It will be very easy to remember Jake's name for me, because my great-grandson was killed in an auto accident April22, 2005, he was 18 months old, his name was Jake. And I miss him, and his Mom(my granddaughter was killed, too.)and his unborn sister, we lost all three. Give Jake a kiss for me, and big brother, too. They are in God's hands, and God don't make mistakes, we do. Not God. Hugs, Lynda
