Mall meals? Do you mean small meals? Are you required to lose weight before surgery? I agree with the above poster-lots of h2o and low carb, high protein if you want to lose fast. What did you do for exercise? I suggest walking for heavier folks. You need to get your HR up, so if it was something like lifting weights (which is good to do) you won't see the same type of aerobic benefit.
If you only eat a little bit, and nothing else during the day, you could put yourself into "starvation" mode and not lose anything. Also, exercise produces muscle. A lb of muscle is smaller than a lb of fat. So, sometimes when it seems you've "gained" - what you've actually done is build more muscle, but lose fat and you're actually smaller!!
Hang in there and just take it one step at a time!!
