5 Days Post PS Update!

Hi ladies! Been a rough weekend in the ATL. Good news! My boobs, arms and eyes look and feel great! I'm having a lot of trouble below my belly button. My right pubic drain must be on a nerve or something. I think there is a clot trying to get through and there's a lot of pressure there. I'm very swollen and numb all around the incision area. I'm pretty impressed with how she tugged my skin down. I had a scar that went to my ribcage...The "top" of the scar is now below my new bellybutton. My hips are really unproportionate to my waist. I look like a wasp. My pain meds make me feel sick to the tummy. I'm eating "easy" foods, but can't eat much at once. I have a suppository, phenergen(hubby calls it the "butt bullet") which helps with nausia, but doesn't totally take it away. I was in tears earlier from the pain from my drain. I called the Dr and she was very sweet and encouraging. I'm on my drugs now, so my pain is not too bad, but I'm just feeling dizzy and sick. My friend came over and showed me how to crochet, so I'm making a scarf to keep me occupied while I listen to the Law and Order viewer's choice marathon. I'll be able to take a real shower on Wed after my appointment. For now it's Dove wipes and hubby washing hair in the sink. Dang oily hair!

Sherry, Now I think you need to add one more Rx to your regimen...the infamous 'chill pill'!! LOL You sound like you are doing great, and just continue to take it easy...Let hubby pamper you right now!!! Take care and before you know it, you will back to your normal self. Norma

Okay - I'm seriously worried about the drains....I KNEW that would be the source of the biggest problems but I'm HOPING it's not terrible. I thought we were able to take a shower as long as we didn't face the running water after 48 hours.....I'm SUCH a baby if I can't get a shower.... Are you able to walk more upright yet? I hope the pain is tolerable for me....I'm counting down the days to my new tummy..... When are you gonna post pics? Much Dee Dee

Dee! Hold on girl! I actually have pics from 3 days post-op and I'll email them to you once I get them out of the camera and on the desktop. Don't forget doll-I had 4 procedures done I can take a shower on Wed after my arm drains are removed. I feel A LOT better this morning. I am walking more upright everyday. My back is bothering me since I can't stand straight up, but I'm almost there. My armpits are starting to hurt a little b/c the boob job bra is starting to rub on it. I can get out of bed by myself now. Do you have anyone to stay with you for a few days? I would say you need help the first few days home. My hair is all greasy again. Wanna skip work and help me get clean?

I'm actually hoping to sleep for the first couple of days while I'm recovering. The only initial day I won't have anyone with me wil lbe the Friday when I get home...and at that Holly's going to be bringing me home so I'm sure she'll help me some. My sister will be Hom Sat, Sun and Mon after surgery so I'm hoping she'll be at least willing to help....By the time she goes back to work I'll be 5 days PO and hopefully will be able to function better by then. (I hope) Hey - are you sleeping in your bed? I have thought about where I'll be sleeping - and thought maybe my couch - but it's kind of low to the ground and my bed is much highe - but also much flatter.....but I have a LOT of pillows.... I wish I could get at least my boobs done at the same time.....oh well - in due time..... Hey - what did you mean you look like a wasp.....I know - I'm asking WAY too many questions.....I just want to make sure what to expect.... Thanks! Wasp-I have a small waist but my hips are still HUGE! I think it's a little amusing, but not really hehe. Try to get a friend to come for a little while on Friday when you're home. That's the day you'll need help the most...just getting to the toilet, etc. I've been sleeping in my bed every night. Roberta let me borrow a wedge pillow and I bought another from linens n things. I put a few pillows on top of that too. You don't want to lay flat. I also had another wedge that Roberta gave me under my knees and a pillow under my butt. They gave me 4 of the hospital pillows to take home-so make sure to take them with you...I didn't ask for them-the nurse just gave them to me. Trust me-I don't mind the questions-I'm glad I can help you. Dr. Ashraf is GREAT! She'll give you her cell phone number if you need anything. She made me feel so much better after I spoke with her yesterday. All I needed to hear was I was normal. I told Dr yesterday that I was glad I didn't get my thighs done at the same time. I would have been sooooo MISERABLE! She's gonna fix my stomach again when she does my thighs. We're submitting thighs with BCBS PPO as soon as the New Year rolls around

YIPPIE....I want the wasp look.....I like having curves......makes me feel sexier.....TMI??? LOL I'll plan on using all my pillows and will sleep in my bed.....maybe they'll let me borrow a wedge pillow too....I don't have any of those...LOL Im hoping to start the approval on anything else as soon as I'm healed from this surgery. I have to build up more time off from though. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I'm hoping everything is fairly tolerable. Did you get muscle tightening with your tummy? I'm hoping she will do that on mine. I don't think I will have kids at my age - and I really want to look as good as possible....yeah - I'm being vein....LOL Get some rest..... we'll chat more as time goes by!!! No muscle tightening...you will since you are getting the abdominoplasty and I had the panniculectomy. She wouldn't do mine like yours b/c I'm planning on having chillins in a year or so
