I know its too early to think about..buttttttt.....I have heard the wait after WLS is 12 to 18 months before I should even consider getting pregnant. I was talking to my hubby today and he has gotten a bad case of baby fever as I have. If I am going to have another baby, I need to start working on it as soon as my body is healed up enough. My gyn is wanting to give me a hystorectomy b/c of the complications of the POS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). There is still a chance that I wont be able to get pregnant. But I wont know till I try right? If you have had a baby or is pregnant now since WLS, can you email me or respond? What are the risk? Will I still be loosing weight while pregnant? How will it affect the baby? Will I get enough nutrients to the baby while pregnant? Will having a baby just complicate loosing weight afterswards? I appreciate you responding. I know I still have time before I can even start planning, but want to know what others have gone through 1st hand. Thanks Kimberly

I haven't had a baby - not before or since weightloss - but I do know that most doctors HIGHLY recommend that you DO NOT get pregnant for at least a year. I know quite a few women that have gotten pregnant before their year was up - and their babies were healthy - but (this is just my personal opinion) if you could give your baby more nutrients at a year or more wouldn't you want to give them the best opportunity you could? There is a pregnancy board....maybe some of the people there could give more advice. Thanks! Dee Dee

Thanks Dee Dee. I am still learning around the boards. I have heard 12 to 18 months, but was curious to hear from others about it. I will take a look for the pregnancy board. Take care! Kimberly

MY NURSE INFORMED ME 2YRS I FLIPPED I TOLD HER WE WOULD HAVE TO NEGOTIATE. I HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 10 YEARS AS OF NOV. 25TH AND NO BABIES!!! MY GYNO SAID AFTER 50 POUNDS I WILL BE ABLE TO GET P.G. SO I AM COUNTING DOWN THE MONTHS TIL I CAN. (9 TO GO) SEVERAL OF MY SISTERS FRIENDS HAD THE SAME SURGERY AND AT THEIR ONE YEAR WERE GETTING P.G. I FOUND OUT THERE IS A LADY THAT USED MY DOCTOR THAT IS 3 MONTHS OUT AND IS PREGNANT. THATS NUTS TO ME. YOUR BODY ISNT READY FOR SOMETHING THAT QUICK... I SAY A YEAR IF YOUR HEALTHY AND YOUR DOC AGREES.
