Dr. Daly
Hi Valerie,
I used Dr. Daly as my surgeon, and HIGHLY recommend him. He is a fantastic surgeon, and his office staff (Tammy) is absolutely wonderful. I didn't use him in a self pay situation, but if it came back necessary to do so, I would use him again in a heartbeat. I am wanting to say that his charge is something like $10K, but not real sure about that. I do know that he requires payment in advance above what insurance would pay.
As far as the mortality rate goes, that was one of my first questions to him. I asked straight up... "What is your mortality rate???" He said that it was less than .02%. That 2 of his WLS patients have died, but both unrelated to the WLS itself. One had another surgery some years later and died from complications related to that, and I think he said the other one died from heart related problems. Having worked in the medical profession myself for the last 25 yrs, and living in Central GA where the mortality rate in regards to WLS is VERY high, this was a huge concern for me. After speaking with Dr. Daly, he alleviated my concerns easily.
Good Luck to you, and know that Dr. Daly is a very competent surgeon, and kind and caring man, and pretty darn easy on the eyes as well...
Hugs,
Susan
