Dr Duncan's rates

How much did Dr. Titus Duncan charge for surgery? Did any of you guys go to a doctor who charges less than 20k? Valarie

Someone said Dr. Dennis Smith out of kennestone accepts what insurance pays and that is all it costs you even if it is medicaid. My surgeon charges $2500 on top of insurance payment!! He calls it a service fee yikes! I am scraping pennies! Are you self pay?

Yep- I have no insurance, and have been denied private insurance by a lot of companies. My husband is starting a new job soon, but I need the surgery sooner than the 12month waiting period with new insurance. I have about 15k to spend, but the doctor I want is 24k... his mortality rate is very low, and after much research, I believe him to be the best. I don't want to die trying to save money! I'm trying to find a good doctor I can afford Valarie

Why would you need to wait 12 months with his new insurance? is it written in the policy?

Try Dr. Hixon, that who i am using. He is great! I love the staff there also. He is in the same Building as Dr. Duncan and Dr. Burrowes. his # is 404-265-3333. he does surgery at atlanta medical center also. good luck! Tammy

I used Dr. Hixon and was very pleased. He has been great as is his staf. If you want to call me 678-202-8659 I will look up what he billed but I would think if you called the office and explained it was ca**** might be cheapier as than they dont have to spend all the time dealing with the insurance and hoopla. I think a majority of my cost was the hospital stay, but anyway call me and we can discuss the cost as I have it on line. Kristie Ingram Oh Dr. H only does open RNY. Valerie, My doctor was Dr. Macik, not sure what his rates are, my insurance covered most. However, he is a fantastic doctor, here is his phone number (404) 252-2220. I have gone from 310lbs to 153, size 26/28, now size 8, no complications. What do you have to lose except a phone call. Karen

Valerie, Dr. Duncan office did my surgery and the cost for me was $42,797.31 to be exact. I read below in this post where it was said that Dr. Hixon only does Open RNY, but that's not the case, a friend of mine had Dr. Hixon the day of surgery and he did hers Lap RNY. Really. When I did it in AUG he said he only did open as I really wanted lap but because I really liked him I went ahead with open. Well that is good to know as my sister is considering the surgery but she wants it done lap.... Thanks for the update.
