Im curious if anyone else has donated blood since surgery? After GBS over 2 years ago my iron was too low but when it got back to normal after ps I donated and then again just the other day. Physicially I always feel so good after donating. Jen

Jen- I don't know I was curious about that myself. People think I'm weird, but I love to donate blood when I can, it makes me feel good knowing that I am helping someone I don't know-it's like a ''random act of kindness''. I'll be interested in seeing the replys you get. Rachel

Because I came in contact with the TB virus in my military days I am not able to donate.

Hello Jen: I donated blood on a regular basis before my surgery in March, 2005. The doctor told me to wait a year before I donate again and I hope my iron level is good at that time when I am able to donate. Speaking of iron, I don't take a separate tablet for this, just the multi 2x a day. Do you think that is enough or should I take a separate iron tablet. Thanks and have a nice Thanksgiving Mary

I would have your Dr check your Iron and Ferritin level. Most Dr's just get a CBC or Hemoglobin or Hematocrit and that's not enough for us. My H and H was normal but my iron and ferritin was dangerously low. You should never take iron without your Dr telling you to first. Jen
