December Gathering
As some of you know, we changed the venue to accomodate more people and so we don't have to worry about whether or not we are too loud. It is only a few exits from the original location.
Date: Saturday 12/3
Time: 1:30pm
Place: Henry County Administration building. Here are directions:
From I-75, take exit #218 and travel east (take a left if you are heading South; take a right if you are heading North).Turn right onto Old Industrial
Blvd (McDonalds is on the corner). At the yield sign, turn right onto
Industrial Blvd. After you pass the Fire Station (on the left), turn left onto Henry Parkway. The Administration Building is the 2nd building on the right. We will have someone letting you into the building and letting you know where to go.
The only rule is no alcohol and no smoking. There is a place for smoking outside. The building will be open, but we will need to stay in our location as much as possible. There is a bar across the street on Industrial Blvd called the Double-D Tavern. Whomever is interested can head over there afterwards. I think they do country/top 40 and line dancing. I have never been there, but I know folks who have.
Remember, this is a pot luck kind of dinner...bring your favorite bari-recipe. We will have access to a sin**** machine and microwave. Judy is doing a great job with decorations and helping with the event. We are both very excited.
We will also be doing a white elephant gift swap. I believe we decided to keep the price no more than $10 and please bring a gift for each person involved. Also, please remember there will be children, guys and gals involved. If possible, I would like to know how many kids we will have. We are thinking about doing a special surprise for them.
If I have forgotten anything, Judy or Derrick, please add.
Thank you, and we hope to see most of you there.
Yes, i do suggest girls for girls and guys for guys. I don't think we will do the swap for younger kids (what do you guys think?). I'm hoping to have an activities table for them. I'm still working out the details.
Hey, I'm all for both kinds of cake.
I think I'll make brunswick stew...it isn't very Christmasy, but it is good. Or, I might make a cheese dip kind of thing with some whole wheat crackers....I'm not sure yet.
I LOVE trying other people's cooking...I can't wait!!! And, I'm so glad you guys will be coming.

I'm excited about this - since I won't make it to November's gathering I'm happy to be able to make the Christmas Party this year! I don't want to but into the "decorations" but did want to ask if you guys need a boom box with a few Christmas CD's? I can bring one if you need one....just an offer....I won't take offense if you say no!
Hey - I don't have a "bari" recepie but I make a mean under 400 calorie 16g of protein per serving chili....not Christmassy - but it's REALLY REALLY good if I do say so myself! Is that okay to bring?

ALSO - we did the "White Elephant" swap last year and me being the "human sound system" would be happy to loan my voice out again if you need someone that is loud enough for everyone to hear. I don't want to step on toes if you have other arrangements made - but the offer's on the table!
