I am in the process of trying to get approved for the surgery. I am currently doing my 3-6 month diet/exercise (just started last week). I was wondering how long is the average amount of time you get off from work... barring any complications. And is 2 - 3 months time to recuperate before going on vacation. Thanks for your help, I am so excited about having this surgery... I can hardly stand it.

I had lap RNY and was off work 2 weeks and returned to my desk job after that. However, I was still tired after working all day, but didnt have anymore time to take. As for vacation I went on a short vacation 3 months after surgery and was fine. Hope this helps, everyone is different. Kelly S
