Trina, you look fab-u-lous girl! Glad that I got a chance to meet you at the October gathering. I need help with my exercise. One-two-three-squat...One-two-three-squat... Does typing it count?

Diddo Phyllis! Typing does not count! 1. Hows about on your lunch break taking a 10 minute walk around your building?! That counts! 2. Tomorrow, I want you to park your car in the parking space that is the farthest away from the building. 3. Take the stairs instead of the elevator tomorrow. 4. Drink you water in small cups. Get up and go to the cooler each time you need water. If you do these things, you will be on your way! Don't have to do all 30 minutes together to start off. Just baby steps! But KEEP MOVING! V

Trina...Trina..Trina You are too good! BUT>>> (always a but) (LOL) On the serious side, I do park about 3 blocks from my office(parking deck is located about 3 blocks away)...So I get a long walk in the morning and a long walk in the evening and sometimes at lunch If I have to go out for lunch. I walk all day as I am an Accountant and have to run back and forth as our offices are split between 2 buildings. I like the water thingy though.,.(each time water is needed to get up and get a refill.) I have a 64 oz jug that I fill each morning with ice and water and I pour it into my 16 oz cup as needed. Hmmmmm.. maybe I can change that and walk at least 4 times (16x4=64) upstairs to the cooler (LOL) Anything for more exercise. Now.. Part II - Need help with protein.. Any ideas WITHOUT taking the drinks? (Cannot do it) But you are just great!! Luv ya girl..

I wanted to start being more active on the board so I figure this is something that I can do and lead by example! Sometimes Okay Protein! Here are some tips: I get all my protein from food so here are somethings that I do. 1. Kroger has a brand of Yogurt called CarbMaster. Stats: 12 grams of protein, 3 carbs, 1.5 fat, 80 calories 6ozs. I mix in 1/2 scoop of Isopure protein powder 12.5 protein, 0 fat, 0 carbs, 50 calories and for 130 calories, I've gotten in 24.5 protein! 2. Get Egg Beaters: 0 fat, 1 carb, 6 protein per 1/4 cup. For breakfast eat 1/2 cup. 3. Walmart has a band of cheese called Cheese Head Lite: 60 cals, 9 protein, 1.5 fat, >1 carb for 1 oz. Eat this with you eggs and you just got in 21 grams of protein. 4. Atkins High Protein Cereal has 12 grams of protein and 3 net carbs. Mix this in some yogurt for 24 grams of protein. 5. Low Carb Success Instant Hot Cereal is wonderful. Stats: 132 calories, 6 fat, 14 carbs, 12 fiber, so 2 net carbs, 12 protein per 1/2 cup. You can get this at: http://www24.netrition.com/ 6. Carb Count Down Fat Free Milk: 45 cals, 0 fat, 8 protein per 8ozs. Make the LC Success cereal with the CCD Milk for 20 grams of protein. 7. Tuna salad = 31 grams of protein per can 5 ozs 8. Kroger has salad shrimp: 60 calories, 12 protein, 1.5 fat, 0 carbs! 9. For my sweet tooth: Snickers Marathon Low Carb Bar, in Peanut Butter and Chocolate Fudge Brownie - 170 calories, 16 protein, 3 net carbs. A bit high in sugar alcohol but they are a cure for my sweet craving and they are delicious! http://www.snickersmarathon.com/energy_bar.asp They are $1.07 at Walmart. I limit them to 2 or 3 a week! Sometimes Those are some of the tips I can think of. I'll think of more and let you know! We can do this! Vanessa

Vanessa, Thank you!! Thank you!! You have given me some vital information on how to increase my protein intake. Where do you get the Isopure powder mix? online? Vitamin shoppe? Walmart? I may try that...if I cannot taste it. For #9.. If I start eating any sweets, I will just fall off the wagon (go back to old habits of eating sweets). But so far ...so good. Again, thanks for all your help and I KNOW I can do this. I go Friday for my weigh-in (go every 2 weeks). Refuse to buy a scale to weigh at home until I have lost at least 100 pounds. I want to buy one so bad but I told my DH that I wouldn't until I lost 100 so I am sticking to it. Have another 39 pounds to go... of which I am trying to lose by Christmas. Wish me luck.. Luv ya girl!

You can get it at on the same website, Netrition.com. This is one of the cheapest places I've seen it. I think $32 for a 3# canister. GNC is expensive. The first time I brought it I paid about $70 for it! Then found this site and www.vitalady.com. I buy it on either site according to if I am purchasing other items for the site. If you email me your address, I can send you a couple of scoops to try before you invest in a whole canister and don't like it. I've spent a lot of money on protein trying to find on that I like and I'd hate for you to do the same. Vanessa

Oh! Forgot to mention that the yogurt at Kroger are only $0.39 with you Kroger plus card. Also remember to limit you protein intake to about 30 grams at each meal since regular people, like us can only absorb about 30 grams of protein at one time. The rest is just wasted calories. Only professional atheles can absorb more than 30 grams at a meal. I try to aim for about 30-35 grams, figuring that I will malabsorb some of it... Vanessa
