Holiday Get Together

First of all, let me thank Judy for coming out to see the room for the luncheon and for all of her great ideas! I think we are really going to have a GREAT time in December! We did want to see what everyone thought about our ideas. We were thinking about doing a gift swap (or White Elephant as some call it). Judy is better at explaining this than I am. We were thinking that everyone bring a gift around $5 for each person wanting to participate. Keep men and kids in mind. We were thinking about the gifts having a christmas/holiday theme. Then, we can all spend time "stealing/swapping" gifts. What do you guys think about that? Any other ideas? We were thinking about a possible visit from Santa and some little toy kind of things for the kids (not sure about that though). I don't know how many kids to expect, though. So, we would need an idea closer to time. And, a tentative count so we are sure we have enough seating. The room is pretty big, and as it is set up right now, will seat about 30 people. But, we can add more chairs if we need to. As far as food goes, we are doing pot-luck (favorite Bari-Recipe) kind of thing. We will have access to an oven, sink, microwave, etc. So, heating things up won't be a problem. We also thought about putting out a "donation" cup to help us with the expenses. Please give us your feedback...and Judy...if I missed anything, please jump right on in! I have really appreciated your help and have enjoyed getting to know you (surgery sister). Remember, it is scheduled for 12/3 at 1:30pm in Stockbridge, GA. Thanks guys, Stephanie

So far so good for me....not sure how far that is for me to drive but I will make it happen.....great ideas on gifts....in case people don't like the gift idea you could do the same thing but with ornaments...that is always fun too.... Ann

That is a good idea about ornaments. Maybe we will do that. Thank you. Stockbridge is about 20 minutes south of Atlanta on 75.

Steph, These are some of the things we did at last years gathering and they went beautifully! I know I for one appreciate it when those on the board take the time to help set up our monthly gatherings.....I love being able to see all of my "bari" good friends. (Yeah - BAD pun huh?) Always remember and never forget - I am the human speaker system....you'll never need an amplifier when I'm around. (Ha ha ) I'm looking forward to it! Dee Dee

Samantha, did you all bring unisex christmas type gifts or funny gifts or good gifts? I think the Christmas ornament is a fun idea but they guys do not usually get in to that so much (we used to do this at my office party each yr and now have started having the guys bring guy gift and one yr they spend the entire night fighting (swaping) over a 6 pk of beer) but it was fun! What do you suggest. We need suggestions on what type of gifts and everyone who wants to participate in the swap needs to bring a gift, do not mark on your gift who it is from. We need ideas!!! thanks, Judye
