High white blood cell count ?

Well I went in for my three month post -op and my blood results came back. I have a high white blood cell count . They want to retest me next Wed. But I want to know does anyone know why this could be? I also have low potassium which I have to take a pill for also I have to take a folic acid pill. Not only that I am very anemic so I have to increase my iron. What a way to go. I have been taking my vits and other suppl. I just dont know whats going on. Any opinions or advice would be helpful. Good news though i am down 68 lbs in three months yeee haaa. I am so happy. I have meet my first weight goal of being down to 250"s so I have a moment.. P.S thank you to all of you that said prayers for my nephew. He is doing very well even though he still has some hearing loss. he is improving slowly everyday. Again thank you all...Beth

Hey Miss Beth, I'm sorry you didn't get all good news from the doc but congrats on your weight loss. I always thought high white count meant an infection somewhere... I can't really be of any help tho, just wanted to let you know I was here, and will remember you in my prayers. I am so happy to hear your nephew is mending. Is he doing ok emotionally? Thank you Barb so much. Yes I looked it up and the best thing it could mean is an infection so I am hoping that is what it is . Compared to the other things I read. as for my nephew they are postive about his hearing loss . However it is a waitng game. He is still very mad at the boys who did that and he has his days on what he wants to do. Me and my sister are working very hard to help him in making a wise decision. Buthim being 17 and very popular in school he has others telling him the wrong things to do. We only pray he makes the right one. Can you belive it started over a song about the other ones school . It got personal and someone after it had been done back and forth a few times got there feelings hurt and it ended up causing this. So still a long story but on our ened so far it is a happy ending ....????? Beth
