Did I dump?
I have a question for ya'll..
2 days in a row I had something unusual happen to me... both times after I ate...10-15 min after.... lasting for about half-hour....I just felt nauseated and.... kinda..... dizzy, groggy, could hardly keep my eyes open (and first time it started as I was driving)...I tried to throw up, but couldn't.... nothing really hurt..... but I felt very-very bad....little clammy, but not real bad, and very pale according to other people both times so.... the question I have: was it dumping syndrome?...
... I'm over 2 mo out and even though I had some bad days, I never felt anything like it....now I'm more or less afraid of the same thing happenning...and I thought that dumping was a reaction to high sugar intake.....And even though my meals weren't perfect, they were not high-sugar variety . And I've had them before without problems ( Quaker's Weight Control Oatmeal first day, and Publix Chicken Salad the second time)....
Any ideas?
Thanks, Rita.

Yup, sounds like dumping. Dumping isn't only from eating something with too much sugar or sugar alcohol, it can also be caused by eating too fast, eating too much, starchy carbs, lactose, all sorts of things. Eventually you will get to know your pouch and it's reaction to things, but unfortunately the first 6 months or so is a learning period for you.
There is a great article on dumping at http://ezinearticles.com/?Dumping-Syndrome:-The-Dirty-Secret-Gastric-Bypass-Patients-Keep&id=36837

Sounds like dumping to me Rita.... terrible isn't it?
First time I dumped was on Publix ham salad... what a coincidence huh?
Second time was last night, on some potatoes and carrots that were cooked with a beef roast... go figure...
Hope it doesn't happen to you (or me) again for a veryyyyyy long time. Leaves me feeling ill for 2 days
