Fruit and breakfast??????
Hey everyone! I am almost 7 weeks post op and I am tired of apple sauce and bananas are coming close to that too, lol I have looked at the grocery store at some fruit ****tail, but everything has soooo much sugar in it. I have to be very careful with sugars. Oh and does anyone have any ideas for breakfast foods? I cant do eggs and yogurt is out of the question too. I have my oatmeal, but I would like to have more of a variety. Anyone have any suggestions????
Thanks!
Kimberly
I'm with you there,Girlie... I want some variety too..
)...I sometimes throw small piece of cheese on mini-pita (byu them at BJ, they are good and low carb, almost no sugar)and get it in Microwave for less than a min......it's very tasty... you can do toaster oven/broiler version of this too if you don't like MW....or I just throw piece of cheese on hot skilet and fry it slightly on both sides.... yam!!!...
good luck, hugs, rita

I like the Low Sugar instant oatmeals, especially the apple one. I also like the Oat Bran (hot cereal) kinda like cream of wheat or malt-o-meal but it has a good fiber content to help "our needs". One serving is about 3 for us, so I only make half of one serving in the microwave. Not bad with a packet of Splenda and a little soy milk (or whatever you use).

I have been doing 1 packet of oatmeal with 1% milk and about half a pack of splenda. I eat a little more than half. But it takes me almost 45 minutes to do that. I am kinda getting burned on it. I was drinking a protein shake for breakfast, but one of my doctors told me to stop doing that and actually eat something. I will have figure something out, lol
Thanks.
Hey Miss Kimberly
I've been experimenting with different canned fruits. They make no sugar added now, sweetened with splenda and I really like the 100% juice fruit that is fruit in its own juice by Del Monty.
For breakfast I always have a string cheese. Its about all I can handle and I don't do good on carbs first thing so the cheese stick is working for me. And don't think you have to stick to breakfast type foods... just try and get some protein in first thing. I do ok on the bacon thats precooked, you just have to microwave it for like 20 seconds. I make sure its crispy. I know its probably too much fat but I eat so little its o****assionally for me. Sometimes I drink Carnation Instant Breakfast too. Its not the greatest to me but doable.
Keep up the good work lady. Sounds like you are doing great!
