Three's My Lucky Number (I Hope)

I almost didn't post this for fear of jinxing myself. I got a call from Dr. Hixson's office this afternoon, giving me a surgery date of next Monday, 10/24, pre-op on this Friday. I asked when I should start on liquids, and the girl said, "Oh, we don't do that." Is this the norm? I was on liquids only for two days for my previous surgery date. Anyhow, I won't believe it's actually happening until I wake up in recovery. If this surgery doesn't come off I'm going to believe it is three strikes and I'm out. Please keep me in your prayers, everyone. Barb in S. GA

BArbara Consider it done on the prayers. And keep a positive attitude it will happen. May take us forever to get there but it will be so worth it once we reached our two goals. One of getting the surgery and two of reaching our goal weight. Keep us posted on how things are going. ((((hugs)))) sandy

Thanks, Sandy. It's so easy to forget that everything happens for a reason. Strangely enough, I feel very calm about this, and my husband has done a 380 and is now 100% behind me - the best outcome I could hope for! This makes all the delays worthwhile. Barb Curran

Oh Barbara!!! This is the one, I just KNOW it!! I didn't have to do all liquids except for the night before when I did the nasty phospho soda....different strokes for different....docs. I DO PRAY that all works out and goes wonderfully!! Tami

Prayers coming your way! I didnt have to do liquids, accpet for the day before- which is really only 12 hours, because 12 hours from surgery I wasnt alllowed to drink. Good luck! YOu will do well

Oh, Michelle, I've watched your progress with something akin to envy! You're right, what's 12 hours in the long run? I'm even looking forward to that magnesium phosphate stuff, as it will be one more step nearer my goal. Thanks for your reply. Barb C.
