I was asked to post pictures of my new family addition. His name that his former owner gave him was "Mason" but his name has been changed to Gunner. He's a very sweet dog and is responding well to learning new commands - but you can certainly tell the person who originally had him has not taken advantage of this incredibly intelligent breed of dog. He's healthy - he's had all of his shots and is fixed. For that much I'm greatful. Here's the links to see him: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a260/queendd2/susie024.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a260/queendd2/mason002.jpg Just thought I'd share....I'll add more pictures of the rest of my "animal" family to this album later. (Gunner has 2 cat brothers and 2 fish brothers!) Dee Dee

We had a german shepherd when I was in high school. He was solid black and a real sweetie. He'd been abused by his former owners, but once he got used to us, he was great. The funniest thing was our chiahuaua (SP??) we had when we got him. She ruled the roost!! He could have eaten her in one bite, but she "attacked" him the first time he came in the door and he "obeyed" her ever after. It was hilarious! Enjoy your new family member!! Thank you Ann, For the few days we've had him he seems to be adjusting well and goodness knows my neice and nephew are enjoying him. I think he's going to have to learn that the cat's rule the inside and he can openly have the entire outside as they are NOT outdoor cats! It's gonna take some time for them to adjust to each other......but they will. (I hope) Thanks again! Dee Dee "Mommy" to Toby Keith, Patches, Jack, "fish" and now Gunner

HI Dee Dee! He's a handsome fellow. How are you and yours? Hope is all well. My love of my life is Jake, you can see his pictures on my profile page. He's a 6 year old minute dashund, long hair, color dapple or like a blue merril in the collie family. I know how you feel. No matter what kind of day I have had; when I get home, Jake is there for me to curl up with, talk too, hug & I get no complaints just lots of kisses. Take care! karen

Your Jake is beautiful! I have had mini daschunds before and they are little cuddle bugs! My cat (Toby) is my "lap dog" if you will. That's his one possesion now that I have it - my lap! He gives me kitty kisses every day when I get home....but knows that when my neice gets home he dosen't have to walk... (wether it's she's carrying him or she's pushing him in her dolly stroller....he's so spoiled!) Gunner is adjusting beautifully - the cats are another story....they don't seem to like him much.....he's "too big" for his own good for their tastes! Patches will find the highest spot in the house to hide from him.....and Toby dosen't care as long as he's in my lap he know's "mom" will protect him. I love my babies!!!

Thank you Sandra. I'm going to have my hands full with him - but he's beautiful and sweet he just need a lot of TLC. If you can give me any tips on how to handle him I would certainly appreciate it. The down side of him is he's playing - but he's not been trained to NOT bite while he's playing and he dosen't have "baby" teeth any more. I'm willing to take any advise anyone can give me. I have to break him of so many bad habits....and I don't want him to distrust me because of it! Thanks! Dee Dee

Dee Dee, Congratulations on the new addition! When I was a toddler, we had a German Shepherd named Duchess...Mom had to go back to work, and it was just me, this baby sitter and her boyfriend and the dog. Needless to say, things happend, most of which I have no memory, (thank God), but I wound up in our driveway, sleeping on my dog, and she was ready to tear ANYONE apart who tried to come near me. She protected me when no one else could, and I will never forget her. I hope that your new dog, bring you much joy and happiness! Cathy

Thank you Cathy, He's a hadful but I think once I've gotten him trained he will be worth his weight in gold. My neice and nephew are excited about having a dog and they're at an age where they're learing to help train him. I think this will be beneficial in him learning that they're "his" kids and he'll protect them. Dee Dee

Dee Dee, He's beautiful. I want to get a German Shepherd myself and I already have his name picked out ''Ivan''. I am getting two more cats next week, in addition to the three I already have- I am a big cat lover, They are both solid black, brother and sister and the girl has 6 toes on her paws. I also have a gold fish that I've had for two 1/2 years!

He's got two cat brothers here that he dosen't seem to really mind - but they aren't taking too well to him. They've never been around another animal (other than each other) so it's going to take some "getting used to" on thier part as well. He's an hand full and I've already gotten several bumps and bruises from him - but as big as he is I expected it. Thanks for the well wishes! Dee Dee
