Post Gallbladder Diet-What to eat????

All of you out there who have had their Gallbladder out, how did it affect your diet? After the surgery, the doc said to revert back to my 1 month post op diet, so I have been eating pureed and soft foods and soup, but I want to branch out to some more real foods. I know I should avoid fried foods and spicy foods, but what should I eat? I have seriously been thinking about scheduling an appt to go see the dietician I am so confused. Before I had the GB surgery, I was 6 months out and could eat most things. I guess I am just afraid of getting sick from eating the wrong things. Any advice would be appreciated! Kelly S

Kelly, so good to see you back posting...sounded like you had a very, very rough time for a while. I have not had gall bladder surgery, but I would suggest seeing the nutritionist to seeing what kind of foods that you can eat. Norma

My gallbladder post op diet was actually easier than my RNY post op diet. I spent about 3 days on purreed food as I didn't have much of an appetite.....after that I was okay'd to eat whatever I wanted. I will say some of the foods I had a hard time with prior to the GB removal have become a bit easier since the surgery....just be careful of any higher fat contents as they are also part of "nature's laxative" now that you don't have your GB....... I'd tell you to listen to your doctors orders though! Dee Dee
