Deborah, My nutritionist put me on a 5 small meals a day diet and lots of water and meals mostly consisting of protien to sustain you. I had the most sucess with this, but before I ever met with her and went on that diet I went off all sugar and ate a high fiber low fat diet. I actually dieted for 4 mos very seriously before the surgery and lost the 21 pounds before the surgery (had to loose 15). I also got on my treadmill every single day! A little exercise goes a really long way. Good Luck! Judye

DRINK WATER, I mean lots and lots of water till you feel like you are floating. I am pre op and I am drinking atleast 150 oz of water a day. But it has helped me loose weight. I do not drink anything else. Good luck. You can do it.

I second the water suggestion, and LAY OFF THE CARBS!! Not completely, but the further away you can get from white flour type carbs the better you will be. Good luck to you Deborah! YOU CAN DO IT!!

Hello! I lost 24lbs before surgery by eating 6 small meals a day i.e., breakfast 1 yogurt, or boil egg, oatmeal, grits small bowls snack fresh fruit lunch small salad w/tuna fresh fruit - snack dinner - variety of salads, regular, spinach, w/tuna, fish or chicken. To include drinking nothing bu****er, skim milk. You will loose if you discontinue drinking carbonated drinks. Might as well start now, you can no longer drink them after the surgery the carbonation will stretch your new stomach. Hope this helps, good luck & congratulations.

If your commited- Do this..... Low carb shakes ( EAS ) you can find them at Walmart, and price clubs ( low calorie, low carb and low fat). Then.... Everything you put in your mouth follows that, low carb, low fat, low calorie. Salads, veggies that are low carb ( green beans, squash).... Fruits ( mainly berries, strawberries, blueberries) LEAN meat ONLY. Seafood ( any ) ..and CHICKEN CHICKEN CHICKEN! I promise if you eat low carb and low fat, with lots of water..and the shakes...... you will drop it FAST..... I am a resident looser, and I would loose 10-13 lbs my first week doint that.
