Hello all!!!!! I signed on here some time ago when I was contemplating surgery...and guess what?!?!? I already have a surgery date...October 13th...BUT I have a question!!! Has anyone NOT lost the pounds they ask that you loose before surgery....will they really delay your surgery if you don't loose all the weight? THANKS!!!

Its up to your surgeon, the reason why they want you to try to lose the weight is to see if you can and/or willing to follow the strict guidelines you have to do after the surgery. Remember this surgery is a tool to help get the weight off quickly and hopefully help you maintain the weight loss & not gain it back; however, if you start eating the wrong foods, drink carbonated drinks & sodas, eat lots of sweets you will gain the weight back and it can cause complications. Talk with your doctor. Hope this helps!
