Frustrated
Just blowing off some steam: I am 5 weeks post RNY, and having problems with "real" food. I have only managed to eat about 2 meals each day for 2-3 days, then my pouch rebels and I am back to shakes and other liquids for a few days. I have only vomited a few times, but that didn't start until I tried food.
Apparently my pouch has problems emptying, and even many hours after eating I have pain trying to drink water or put in anything. I had a less-than-satisfactory 1 month post-op visit with the new Nurse Practitioner a week ago. She didn't seem at all interested. I managed to talk to the PA after a support group meeting Thursday nite, and her response was much more concerned. Bottom line: after I had problems again Friday, Jody (the PA) said I have to be scoped this week.
I am actually hoping there is a stricture at the top or bottom of the pouch, something that can be dilated and fixed! Otherwise ....... am I left living with this????
