I think I'm spiraling out of control....Need help.
Let's see. I'm eating bread. Pasta. Lots of cheese. Lots of sugar.
Yesterday I had: Egg sausage and cheese souffle
Chicken philly
lasagna
half a twix
2 glasses of sweet tea
But, I've been eating this way since I found out I'm pregnant and I still havent gained any weight.
Ive even lost afew pounds.
MY fear is I wont switch the eating off after the baby,
Hey, you know, I've had trouble since I had the surgery 2 weeks and 3 days ago! I can eat just about anything, chicken doesn't bother me, and I don't seem to get full either (though I've learned that some of that is because I drink so much water with my meals) but it's been scaring me too, because after the first week, I've only lost 3 pounds.
I also go to a support group in Gainesville, and some advice I've gotten there is that if we stick to the 'Atkins' diet (so to speak) and limit our food to lean protein and veggies (if we're on veggies yet) and continue our excercise, we'll do ok. It won't be the rapid weight loss that so many others seem to have, but 3 pounds is ok with me, as long as it's 3 pounds OFF not 3 pounds on.
Just remember when you reach for a snack, to go for chicken, cheese, salad, etc. and in spite of what we know we CAN have, even sugar free sweets can set off a sweet-tooth.
Also, nothing will jump start a weight loss like upping your excercise level.
I've struggled with the same issue, only I've just barely lost 17 pounds since surgery. I still have hope.

Gretchen...trust me...you WILL see loss. I was told early on that the reason didn't FEEL fullness was because my nerve endings in my pouch were still healing and as they healed I would INDEED feel full, and full I DID feel.
Did you use Obesity Solutions? (If we've discussed this before, please forgive me, I have a memory the size of a pinhead!)
I have considered starting the support groups they do once a month.
Keep up the good work, eat what you are supposed too... (great advice for ME to give, huh?)
You WILL lose..promise.
Tami
I have been struggling with my food for quite some time now. I am just now dealing with the bad habits issues...you know the ones everyone told us we needed to deal with in the beginning? Well, I have been going to a "Weigh Down" support group at my church once a week. We are not really dealing with the "losing weight" part but rather the healthy eating part. The weight loss will follow this kind of eating. It's amazing how we sabotoge ourselves everyday with the foods that keep us in the same deadly cycle.
I don't know about you but I want to be healthy and slim. I'm working on the healthy part right now and the slim part will come as a counter part.
Some people have actually said to my face that those who don't lose all their weight have cheated!?!?!
Umh, I'm not sure but that's why I had the surgery in the first place...I couldn't stick to a plan long enough to get the weight off that I needed. I have my weight at a place now that I am dealing with the "food" issues. I believe that I am going to get back on the losing track with the changes I'm making.
I guess what I am saying is that we all have to find our way to get the eating under control...with other's help and some without other's help. I would suggest you start researching on the internet the different foods that you know are sabotaging you and find out "scientifically" what they are doing to your body...maybe that will get you started down a different road. I did a lot of this before surgery but sometimes a refresher is a good thing.
I will say a prayer for you too. It's not always about what we can do but what He helps us to do.

Phyllis, that's great advice. I will do the research. I had a MUCH better day yesterday and a moderately better day today.
I think some of my problems have also been some female issues that have found me in that "pms" stage THREE times this month...ugh.
I am DETERMINED I am not going back. NO NO NO NO NO
And I will most CERTAINLY welcome ANY prayer anyone will offer!
Thanks so much! And good luck to YOU too. I am gonna be praying for you as well!!
