Hydrocodone

You know I do not know how many others have experienced the same problems with this drug. I ran into Deborah Holbrook at our surgeons's office today, you will remember she had been having some breathing problems. Well it was caused by the hydrocodone. I had the same problem when I got home from the hospital I broke down (I usually do not use pain killers) and took one dose and I felt like I was going to fall asleep and stop breathing, I had to keep reminding myself to breath. I am just thinking that if alot of bariatric patients are having this problem they should consider prescribing some other drug. This was a scarey experience. I will be listing this as a no no drug for me from now on! Je

I can't take hydrocodone, but it is because it makes me itch very badly. So, they gave me liquid demerol. It worked pretty well. I haven't heard of it causing breathing problems. I'm sorry you guys had to co through this.
