OK Dr. Fields told me i needed to loose 15lbs before i do this surgery and i have dropped the cokes, sweets, and working my way toward a 100oz of water a day. Eating more veggies than u can imagine yet i have lost nothing. What am i doing wrong here? Now my cycles have been wacko and last month i had to take provera just to have a cycle and well i am due in a few days but nothing yet and frankly i am getting frustrated. I only like a support group meeting and the nutritional consult having my list completed but i am frankly scared to death to go to the consult in fear they will think i am not trying to loose the weight. Please any advice suggestions would be appreciated. I don't want to stay stuck like this. And i don't want the dr's thinking bad of me because i am trying. Thanks in advance sandy

I would exercise (ignore if you are already doing this - I didn't see where you said you were) and drop any high carb veggies like corn/peas/etc. I would also try to eat more protein (it fills you up more and keeps you full longer). Other then that, best of luck to you! I too would eat what I was told only to lose nothing. Kia 5'9" 284/187/155

I can tell you that exercise is a must and a little goes a long way! I also tried to eat 5 small meals a day so that my metabolism would keep working. Dr. Duncan says we should exercise in the morning so we actually burn fat - if you exercise only at night you are only burning the caleries you have eaten that day. The small low fat high fiber meals really work well. I had to loose 15 pounds before sugery and I lost 22. I walked on my treadmil every single day! Be sure to watch your portion sizes too. Good luck. Judye

Kia your right no i have not been exercising my sciatic nerve has been flared up but after reading your post i went and walked 2/3 of a mile taking a break today and doing it the same in the am to build up. Sandra you are a wealth of information. Thanks so much. I am tryin the way you are doing it and i think it might work. Never thought about the carbs after 4pm or setting it up the way you do. How much protein are u getting in a day? And am i allowed those pork rinds? Yep read your post and went and got a bag and now i am addicted to them lol. Judy thanks for the advice i am going to do the walking early am when it is cool and not so hot out. My daughter's school is right acrosss from the park so gonna drop her off and go walk then. I will let all of you know how it is working and i truly appreciate the advice. I am actually gonna call and set up my appt with Stacy at the Wellness Center for the nutritional consult. Thanks again
