Went to the "LIVE" support tonight....
Well tonight I went to the live support group with Dr. Champion. It was good, not what i thought would be , but good non the less. I enjoyed the doc, He knows his stuff, and funny too. they went over more things for the folks who already had surgery but there was two of us that had not. We just listen in and joined the topic as needed, I hope there be another one for those of us who are wanting the surgery. Anyway I took lots of notes on things I already knew. but that's OK! Be Blessed.....Kathy
Kathy, I read your profile, and you have obviously done a lot of research on WLS and given it careful thought. Don't give up. Go ahead and fill out your paperwork and see Dr. Champion. He also has a support network on Yahoo, or at least he used to. You will find lots of emotional support and good tips from both. The 40 BMI is not etched in stone as a cut-off. Co-morbidities make a big difference, and Dr. Champion may require that you have a test for sleep apnea, as that is a big one. It has taken me over a year to get my surgery date - insurance shot the first one out of the water - but I've learned more and more by continuing to read posts on this board and attending a support group. Good luck, and keep us updated on your progress. The friendliest people in the world are on ths board.
