Isopure...and more...
O.K. I finally found some protein I can tolerate (I watered it down a little bit and it is with ice)!....Isopure is pretty good. I am drinking the peach mango right now. Derrick picked me up some from Gold's last night. Now, I just need to find a place to get it a *****eaper....any ideas? I also bought some sample packs and a shaker from Bariatriceating.com. I'm also going to try liquid vitamins. I figure I can down a tablespoon 2 times a day easier than trying to chew something and having it all in my teeth...we will see. Hey, do you guys know if there is an iron supplement out there small enough to just swallow? Shree mentioned something to me, but I don't know the name of it.
Thanks...
Hey Steph
I love a drink that is similar to Isopure called Precision Power... in Fruit punch. They sell it at Vitamin World. If you are a "member" (free to join), a six pack of the Precision Power is around $19 -$20 with tax. I am not sure if that is less than you are paying for Isopure, but I like it better than the Isopure
I do not know abou the iron supplement...sorry

Is it worse than Phospa-soda? If I could get a shot of that down, I can get down a shot of vitamin (I think)...I'm just trying anything right now. I think I paid like $26 for the liquid (peach nectar flavored) vitamins. The testimonies say it doesn't have a bad vitaminy taste....we shall see. I have already wasted like $27 on vitamins I just can't stomach. They are just sitting on the counter. I know I'll find something I like soon.
Thank you!
Hey Stephanie,
I know at GNC they were having a sale on the Isopure 20 oz bottles. You buy 3 get one free. They are $3.50 a bottle. I bought some and I just cant tolerate them. Everything that is sugar free I have eaten since the surgery taste extra sweet and I am having a hard time with it. I ordered some unjury today. I am hoping that will do better for me. I have been very weak for several days to the point of feeling like I was going to pass out. I called Dr office and the PA told me it was normal with some people. I just need to increase my protien. I am already adding chicken broth to my mash potatoes. I started eating some apple sauces today too. It seems to be doing very well.
I am glad you are doing so well. How was your 2 week check up?
Good luck to you finding some protein...as I am finding...everyone is different. So, I'm sure you will find something you like. I have been watering down the isopure a little bit. That helps with the sweetness.
The weird thing for me is how things change. I can tolerate something really well one day then not the next.
My checkup went well. She said I was right on track. I have lost 29 pounds since surgery. So, that puts me right at 300. Since I started this journey, I have lost 49 pounds! I'm excited about that. Once the nausea goes away, I know I'll be feeling great!!!! Thank you for asking!
Am I the only one who buys the liquid vitamins that Walmart sells for $7.98? It is berry flavored, and not too bad. Of course, it may taste differently to me after surgery. Right now I mix the unflavored Unjury with peach or strawberry yogurt at breakfast, and the other morning I spilled some of the liquid vitamins in it. The taste was even better! This morning I tried some of the vanilla Unjury, as I was out of the unflavored. It covered the "yogurt" taste, completely. I don't mind the tang, but I felt like I was eating strawberry pudding. I feel like a little kid again, mixing all sorts of things. One other thought. Is it alright to use the small jars of baby food? I'd thought of mixing the Unjury into some of the fruit for a protein snack.
