Please help me........

Ok I am 15 days out, the past 4 days I have been nausious every time I eat or drink. It doesnt matter if it is water or my shake or refried beans or broth, I stay gittery, I think I may be getting alittle dehydrated, I have thrown up a few times, I am very weak, which is odd because I have been going since surgery, I was walking a mile and a half by 5 days out, and now I just dont feel good, my muscles are weak, what do I need to do? and also when Dr P did my surgery he said that he saw where my gb had been, and there is alot of scar tissue on my liver, that it HAD NOT healed correctly, It has really been hurting on my right side horribly. Please HELP, WhAT DO I DO?????????/

Erin, Call your doctor. Make sure he checks your potassium count. A friend of mine, who had Dr Richards as her surgeon, started feeling this way at approx. the same time as you are. Like I said, call the doctor's office tonight(!!!), and make sure they check your potassium level. Her's did not get checked for another month or so, and when they did it was at 2.0, which is very, very low. She ended up in the hospital for 5 days and was being given potassium IV. Should this happen to you, make sure that they do a PIC line at the very beginning. Norma

For goodness sake call your MD, RIGHT NOW. You could have a stricture or kinked bowel or who knows what, just please call your MD. Please let us know how you are doing. Take care, Crece

D. Hi! First of all call our doctor immediately and let him know what's going on! I am now 11 mts out & still have vomiting issues occasionally and its usually because I ate or drank too fast or too much or sometimes certain foods just make me sick. Are you sure its ok to eat refried beans that early out. I would think you would still be on soft light foods, i.e., grits, oatmeal, soups (broths) maybe the refried beans are too heavy for your new stomach to accept right now. Check w/your doctor and ensure you're eating the right things. Only 15 days out your new stomach has not even healed yet. Also, do you give yourself or have your physician give you vitamin b12 shots. Since you state you are feeling weak it can be because you are not getting in enough nutrition & vitamins, especially vitamin b12 & calcium. Call your doctor immediately! the Doctors office just called me back, i have an appt at 1:30, They think I may be alittle dehydrated and not getting enough protein. So I believe they are going to do some blood work and possibly some IV fluids. We shall see. I will let ya know.

Well I just got home, I have an ulcer and am alittle dehydrated, they have put me on 4 new meds, I am back on the liquid diet too, I dont know anything about the ulcers though, has anyone else heard of this. Im on carafate liquid, profen, protonix, and reglan. IF some one could help me figure what all that stuff is for and what the heck the ulcer thing is, I mean I know what one is but what does that mean.If I dont feel better this time tomorrow they will put me in for IVs for the dehydration, and nausia. Wow, Erin, I don't know anything about all those drugs, but I sure am glad you listened to everybody and called your doctor. Here's hoping you get better soon, and all this becomes a distant memory. Barb in S. Ga
