Major, major Wow moment!
Hey gang--sorry I've not been around lately. Starting school again has me running in circles!
Major Wow moment today that I had to share: I went shopping at the mall--first time in months. I headed to my trusty plus size dept in Dillards--and the smallest sizes were too big! I didn't really know what to do! I know this sounds stupid...but I was afraid to venture into the reg. misses dept--cuz I've not belonged there in soooo long. My Mom, who was shopping with me, made me come with her-and she started picking up XL sized things. I kept telling her 'No way can i wear that!'----but I COULD!!!! I bought a lot of new things--and not one of them had that dreaded "W" after the size!!!
I'm out of plus sizes!!!
Hugs to you all---thanks for listening!
Michelle
I bet they're just around the corner for you! Be prepared, however. I had NO CLUE where to shop outside the plus department. My hands got shaky, my tummy felt funny---it was outside my comfort zone!! I was afraid people would be looking thinking "What's SHE doing over here?" But no one looked twice at me. I kept waiting for the sales girl to direct me back to the women's section--but she just kept working away like I wasn't even there. I was amazed. I had no idea it would make me feel so odd!!

The closest that I have come is wearing a size 14/16 pullover shirts from Lane Bryant, and I also got some size 12/14 pullover shirts from Wal-Mart. Now, if only my bottom would cooperate, and I start losing there. The one thing that I did like about Lane Bryant was there selection in undergarments...much more up to date styles than I see at other large size stores.

Congrats Michelle... Guess what???? Juniors sizes are next... I never thought or even dreamed that I would ever be in Juniors sizes. That is a hard one to take. The shirts are short, and the shorts and pants aren't near as high as they used to be in a size 26/28 as I was pre-op. It is a strange thing to get used to. Keep up the fantastic work!!!
Hugs,
Susan
