Looking for some help Need weight lose surgery
Dear Doctor's,
My name is Virginia Chahrouri,I'm 45 years old.
I live in Dallas Georgia.
I'm a Mother and wife.
I'm 5 ft. 2 and weight over 300
I have high blood presure,asthma, and sleep apnea.
I'm wanting to have Gastric By Pass surgery, I don't want to die fat.
I eat, and over eat. When I get upset happy or any other time.
I'm looking for a Doctor that acepts Medicaid.
And may not go by BMI.
My BMI is 60.3
My primary care Doctor and Asthma Doctor both want me to have this surgery.
I called and got but on an waiting list for Emory.
There next seminar is in December. But I was told I would need to lose weight before surgery.

Look into Obesity Solutions and Drs. Proctor and Richards. My understanding is that Medicaid does not cover WLS but this office will work with you if you are self pay, and also will not require you to 'lose' weight in order to be qualified. the number is listed on this site if you want more info. There is a woman in my support group who self-paid and she said it was about 23,000.00
She mortgaged her house for it.

PS, I also happen to know that in Phoenix, Arizona, the 'Medicaid' program which is called ACCHS does cover WLS in cases of severe morbid obesity.
