It seems this is something that happens to some and not others. I was wondering if any of you experienced this, and if so, how long did it last? Thank you, Stephanie

I had lots of adhesions cut, etc so they sent me home with a drain which collected fluid for a week. Then after it was removed along with my staples the following week, I continued to leak here and there for another few weeks. As long as the site is not red/painful/infected you should be fine leaking. Clear or red/reddish tinged/ or clear hay-colored fluid is also fine. Kia 5'9" 284/189/155

Stephanie, I hope that you don't take this the wrong way, but the title of you post made me laugh! Now, seriously, mine leaked to, did you have open? (I did) It wasn't a major leak, just enough for me to notice, and wonder about. It did stop, and as long as it looks okay, I think you should be fine. If you button starts to hurt, or maybe the discharge gets smelly, I would get concerned. By the way, congratulations on making it to the "other side" Cathy

It is kind of a funny thing. It is a light pink to clear color. It seems to be slacking off now. I have removed the bandages. So, I'm just using a towel. Everyone at the hospital and the doctor's office said it was fine. I was just wondering how long it would last. My bellybutton is a bit sore, but not unbearable. thank you.

No, it was lap. They said it was the fluid that they use to test for leaks coming out of my bellybutton. It doesn't happen to everyone...I'm just lucky.
