Ok, I know we have several members here that just lurk around and we don't even know you are here. Maybe you've read over and over about these monthly gatherings and have never gone? Well don't be shy! Tell us about your self and come join the fun. I think often times new members on the Georgia board don't realize that these monthly gatherings are open to EVERYONE! Thanks Amy for giving this a bump... Since you had my original saved up top, I hadn't felt the need to this again yet. We have a huge crowd that has already RSVP'ed. I think the count is up to around 59 now. So we should have a very good crowd this time in Macon. And you are so right. These get togethers are for anyone and every one... old, new, and just thinking about it. I hope that all will make the decision to come. This is gonna be a special get together in Macon... atleast for me anyway. Why? you ask??? Because you, Amy, will be there. I have been to every get together since my first one back in February... but I haven't been blessed with your presence. So to me, while they are all alot of fun, this one will be extra special. I know I want to go, but not sure if I have a party going on that weekend yet. I would love to come out of semi lurking and meet all these wonderful people. Is everyone staying at the same hotel (like one big room to room slumber party!) or do most of you go back home after dinner? Hi Kathy, Not sure if everyone is staying at the same hotel or not. I have only seen 2 folks post which hotels they are stay at, and they are different hotels. And I know some will be driving home. After dinner there will be a bunch of us going to a nearby night club. And I haven't heard from Barb Ramsy on whether she will be coming or not. I hope so though. I haven't seen her since before her surgery was even scheduled. Hope you get to make it. Susan

Whoa! I just did mapquest to find out exactly how far Macon is away from me and it is 112 miles! I think that is too much of a drive for me considering I get a panic attack in the car after 10 minutes! I heard something about a gathering in Duluth (not sure when?), does anyone have more info on that? I would love to go to a get together. I am guilty of mostly lurking, but I have put a couple posts on here.... I would love to get more involved. I am trying to break free of my anxiety shell that keeps me couped up in my apartment 24/7!

Jennine, I would sure have liked to meet you. I know all to well about anxiety attacks, I use to get them all the time. I didn't like to be around people either, it was hard to leave my house. I was always worried about what others thought or if they were looking at me. It was a difficult time. Thankfully for the most part those fears are now gone. It took me time to step out of my safe haven, but I'm so glad I finally did it. If you ever need someone to talk with just email me anytime. Amy

Hi Amy, I would love to go! But I think of you like a celebrity and I think I might wee wee my pants if I met you! lol In all serousness though, I really feel like I may die if I walk into a room full of people I don't know, so I am going to drag my husband with me because he is my "safe" person and I always feel okay if he is with me. That will help me relax and be able to have fun with ya'll! I'll definitely be seeing everyone in October!

Hi Sandra, I know exactly how you feel about the freeway. Some drivers here in GA are just crazy!!! I was in an off center head on collision (the off center part is what made us lucky!) in 2004 and have not been able to get into a car without feeling like I have to claw my way out or I'll die. It's horrid, but I can cope for short drives. I never thought of crocheting in the car, maybe I should give it a try! It would give me a good excuse to finish the afghan I have been working on for 3 YEARS! (Yes, I am slow, but I'm almost there!)

Jennine: I think the October get together is 10/22 in Duluth. Please try to come and if you need a ride, I could meet you half way from your house, leave your car and we can ride together.
