Newbie checking in!

Hello! I am pretty new to this site (although my profile seems a little long already!) and I just wanted to say hi on the Georgia board. I live in Alpharetta and hope to have surgery with Dr. Hart at Emory Dunwoody Hospital. I can't wait to join the losing side! Any info about GA WLS stuff is appreciated since I am still learning about this lifestyle I am trying so hard for! I have my consult next Thurs. and I can't wait!

Hi Jennine Congrats on taking steps to better your health! I'm not familiar with Dr. Hart, but I have read great things about him on this board. I'm sure you'll find a lot of support here! Good luck on your journey!

Hi, Jennine!!! Welcome to the GA board!!! I've heard good things about Dr. Hart, and I was able to meet him while visiting someone at Emory Dunwoody. I think you are already doing what you need to be educated about this journey...reading, reading, reading! If you have any questions, we are here for you! My brother and his family live in Alpharetta. It's only about thirty minutes from me. Hopefully, you will be able to join us at one of the monthly meetings. This is a fun group! Hugs, Becky

Hi Becky! Where/when is the monthly meetings? I would love to go to one, but I had no idea where one was. Is it the same one Kia mentioned in Macon? I have no idea where Macon is, is that bad? lol... If it is not Alpharetta or ******* I don't know where I am! (I moved here from California) Let me know, I would love to join a GA group!

Welcome Jennine I had my surgery at Emory Dunwoody with Dr. Hart, and have nothing but praise for the way it went. They have their system that seems to flow along smoothly, and wont deviate from it at all... I am a very impatient person and tried everything to speed things up and the only thing I accomplished was making them and me crazy... hehehe

Hi Marc! (That's my hubby's name, with the "c" even!) lol... Anyway, I am such an impatient person too! Thanks for letting me know the process, I will be sure to try and slow myself down. How long did it take you from consult to sugery? I am curious as to how long the whole process takes... Thanks!
