Now you alll know I'm an exercise freak - and most of you should know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE to dance . Last night I took a Cardio Fusion class at the gym - I've taken this class a few times before and it's a GREAT cardio dance class - but last night my ankles kept turning (Cause I seriously need new sneakers) so I took my socks and shoes off. Well - what I didn't think about was how bony my feet have become combined with the fact that we work out on carpet......I wound up with MAJOR blisters on my feet that eventually broke during the course of the class (sorry to be so graphic) You'd think even as much I've exercised that I'd learn about how this works...... I'm hurting.....does anyone know how to help with making these blisters not hurt so bad? Anything that will help is appreciated!

Poor Baby!! I feel for you. I don't have any advice to give you, except give those blisters time to heal. At least we know you won't be doing THAT again, huh?? Hang in there!! (((((hugs))))) Ann in Duluth

I love you girl, you could never do anything stupid, thank you for all the support you have given me, the only thing I know to do is put some bandaids and antibiotic ointment maybe, they are usually sowre a day or so, it does help to to wear tight socks and shoes that way nothing rubs them as much.

Trust me - I do stupid things ALL the time!!!! (I just don't air that much of my dirty laundry...) I have a freind who suggested some bandages that Johnson and Johnson makes specifically for blisters....so i'm going to try them. Thanks for the sweet comments - we're here to support each other. I hope you get to come to one of our gatherings soon! I'd love to meet you in person!!! Dee De

Oh no!!! Too much dancing, huh?! That class looks like a lot of fun. I would think keep your feet as dry as possible and stay off of them. I would think air would be the best thing for them right now. But, hey, what do I know?

Dee Dee, at least you are making stupid EXERCISE mistakes! I bet nobody could have told you before WLS that you would love exercise so much that you would take off your shoes so you could stay at exercise. About the blisters.... Go to the drugstore and buy moleskin. It is a padded adhesive patch. Cut a hole in it the size of your blister and then cut around it and adhere it to the spot on your foot. You will now have padding around the blister so there will be no pressure on the blister. It works for broken blisters, too. Hope this helps. Cris

I could really tell you something that seriously would have NEVER happened prior to WLS....this was my THIRD class of the night. (I taught the first one - then had to do my weight training class - then had to get my cardio in.....Yeah - I'm a bit obsessive about my exercise now!!!) I will go look for them to see if they are any less expensive than the one's anotehr friend told me about..... I'm gonna have to give in and get a new pair of shoes so I can keep wearing them during class. Thanks for the support!

yeah - I took a foot bath tonight and refrained from exercising because I was afraid that sweat would be a possible cause for infection. I understand the craving for the exercising - but you'll be able to get back at it soon!!!!
