Packet submitted to BCBS for approval!

I got a phone call from the insurance cordinator at my surgeons office late Friday evening. She faxed over everything to BCBS. I called today and they said they rec'd it and it has been sent for approval. They said it could take 3 weeks before I get my approval but for me to call back. So, now, do i call back every hour? every couple of hours? lol Several times a week? I do not want to make them mad, but I want them to know its important to me and I need them to go ahead and prove it, lol what do you think?

Kimberly, I had BCBS of GA.....I was approved in 3 days although I didnt know it for a week. They submitted my stuff on Feb 14 and I was approved on the 17th. I didnt find out until the following Monday. I wouldnt call everyday, but pick one day during the week and call that day. Monday afternoons were my day. If you are confident that you have all your things in to them, it shouldnt take them too long to review. Good luck. D'Lynn 232/179

Thanks for responding! I was thinking about calling on Tuesdays and Thursday, lol I want them to know I reallllly want this surgery. Everything has worked out so far. just gotta get this part done so I can plan the surgery. My husband comes home for 15 days in November maybe in October. I want to have some weight gone before he gets here. Take care.

Nothing wrong with doing it twice a week. The lady I talked to was wonderful and she just told me that calling everyday was not going to speed up the process but once or twice a week was fine. Good luck and I know you will be glad to see hubby again.

just wanted to say that I'm going to keep my finger crossed for you...I'm pretty sure that if you've "jumped through all BCBS hoops" and satisfy their requirements, they WILL Approve you.... I just got mine Approved by them a few weeks ago in a matter of days.... Best of luck to you, Rita B.
